Letting the Holy Spirit do His work

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Conviction: the state of being convinced of error or compelled to admit the truth.

Gods Word has changed my life, my marriage and my relationship with others.
There was a time in my walk with Jesus when I felt a few steps ahead of my husband.
I felt like I was his God sent help mate and felt like it was MY job to let him know of his sin in a way that brought us to some tough times.
When I did this, it was not in a loving way, more of me saying to him, "you’re a despicable sinner, who is not leading this family spiritually." Ouch! The biblical form of correcting a brother with is with love, because love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8)

We could never be someone's Holy Spirit, we, however, can pray for them, love them, and meet them where they are at in their spiritual walk.
Being a help mate is only helpful when you are fully surrendered to GOD and His timing.
I didn't understand it then, but now I see that through those mistakes that were made when I so ignorantly corrected him, I was getting in the way of GOD working on his heart. GOD continued to remind me to let him handle it. I kept telling GOD, "Are you talking to him too?" The audacity I had!! (SMH) My stubbornness  was such a stumbling block for my husband.

I remember every Sunday during invitation, I would pray for my husband more than ever to commit his life to The Lord. On this particular Sunday invitation, I couldn't believe I forgot to pray for him to commit, I was so caught up in the message. Next thing I know my husband grabbed my hand and asked me to walk forward with him. At that same time I heard a voice, it was my timing My child! I was so overwhelmed with it. You see how could I focus so much on my husbands faults when my own sin blinded me from the truth of me being that helpmate God created me to be. It was not untilI I focused on praying for my growth that GODs conviction fell on my husband. The Holy Spirit didn't need me to butt in, instead I needed to intercede for him, love him, encourage him and most importantly respect him.

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18NIV)

I feel blessed that I'm my husbands helpmate. Doing it GOD(s) way is much better! Pray for your husband/wife today. Ask GOD to help you become the helpmate He created you to be. If you don't personally know Jesus, cry out to him! Invite him into your life. If you need him like I need him pray this prayer.

Lord God, I am weak. I need you in my life. I accept Jesus as Lord and savior! I want to live the life you created me to live. Restore me, heal me and make me whole in your sons Jesus beautiful name I pray! Amen!
